Camp Rock the Musical- July 2011
This show was my first show where I had a lead. I played Rosie. Rosie was the new girl at camp who was the worst dancer ever. Which was kind of ironic because I was one of the youngest members of the cast so I was sort of the new girl anyways. And at my audition during the dance portion, I absolutely failed. I got basically none of the steps right, but I kept looking like I was having fun and free-styled my way through.
I am not a dancer at all, I took a couple classes when I was younger, but that was it. And there was just so much dancing in this show that I literally couldn't sleep at night because the steps would just be running through my head and I would be trying to fill in the spaces where I didn't know what came next. But I eventually made it.
One of my favorite parts of being in the cast of this show was all of the parties I got invited to. All of the older kids sort of adopted me and invited me to sleepovers and things. It made me feel so welcome and included. I couldn't be more thankful for that, being the new girl, in a new show, with a new company.
